mali is 6 months old!!

aunt amy did a photo shoot of mali yesterday and the pics are amazing!! thank you aunt amy!! these are her official 6 month pics...she's getting so big!!

lightening rolls...

mali dislikes tummy time so much that she rolls immediately when we put her on her tummy...it's hilarious! i tried to get it on video but i wasn't fast enough so i had to start rolling the camera as soon as i put her down! anyway, you get the picture...she can roll now!!

bath time with nana

mali and nana were having a ball during bath time the other night - nana made it more like a bubble bath! thanks nana for such a fun time!

gymnastics party!

this was a first for us! b's cousin hailey had a gymnastics party for her 8th birthday...happy birthday hailey!! b had so much fun and now i'm convinced i need to get her into classes as soon as possible! here are a few pics of braidyn, cousin jessica, and mali enjoying the "pit"!

a whole new world...

mali has started sitting (with the help of a boppy, of course!) and it's a whole new world to her...until she falls over anyway!

mama's new hobby...

my dear sweet sister-in-law amy got me addicted to the food network and now i'm hooked! chris bought me a rachael ray cookbook and i got busy...cooking that is! here are a couple of dishes i cooked up last week. the first is a carbonera deep dish pasta crusted pizza - try saying that 5 times fast. the second is a mile high lasagna - not necessarily a mile high, but 12 layers high anyway! i'm sure they look pretty nasty in the pictures but boy were they delicious!!

i couldn't take it anymore...

well, the pink was just way too much and i couldn't stand looking at the blog...it was just overwhelming!! so, i decided to go simple and pick a template that was much easier on the eyes! hope you like it!

New Template!

For those of you who view our blog regularly, you're still at the right place, just a new face! I figured that since we have two girls, it would only be appropriate to have a pink template. So, here it is, our new bright pink blogspot!!

King Cake

My mom and I were in the Mardi Gras spirit the other day and decided to try a new King Cake recipe that I found on the internet...it was fabulous!! For those of you who do not know, King Cakes are a Mardi Gras tradition and being from Baton Rouge, it was something we had every year. Being in Alb now, we kind of miss that, so we made our own! Here's a pic of B salivating over the cake!

By the way, the tradition of the King Cake is very interesting and has a very symbolic meaning. For instance, the oval shape of the cake represents the path that the wise men took to find baby Jesus and then to avoid King Herod. Google it sometime when you have a chance. It would be a neat tradition to start with your family whether you're in New Orleans or not!

Braidyn and Aspen

B's good friend Aspen came over to play and they had such a good time dressing up and making burritos out of each other. For some reason they thought it was fun to roll each other up in the Dora couch and then sit on one another...oh the silly things we do for entertainment!

Saying "mama"

So we had small group last Monday night (1/7/08) and Mali was just hanging out on the floor playing with a new toy from Christmas. My friend went over there to say hi to her and caught her saying "mama"!! I was so excited! She said it all night and I actually got it on camera! Way to go Mali...growing up so fast!

Rollin' with my Homies!

We went to a birthday party this past weekend (Happy 1st Birthday Marie!) and all the kiddos (except the birthday girl!) decided to have a little snack on the stairs. It definitely made for some cute pics! Lee, sorry for sticking my big fat head in front of your video camera but i had to snap some pics before it was too late!
In the pictures from left to right we have Alberto, Ariana, Elayna, Braidyn, Ty is at the top of the stairs, and Carsten is below. Thanks for being our friends - we love you guys!!

Posh Time!

My dad goes by Papa Josh, however, B has called him special names such as Posh and now AbbaJosh - my dad likes that because Abba means father. Anyway, here they are having some Posh time! Love you Papa Josh!!

Our Precious Girls!

Happy New Year!!

Surprisingly Mali stayed up past midnight and was pretty calm - she found a new friend to snuggle with! B had fun doing sparklers with her friends. We had fun party hopping but sadly couldn't get to every one - thanks for all the invites!!
